Kootenay Fresh, Local Legendary

FisherPeak_logos_White.png

Established in 2013 Fisher Peak Brewing company was born out of the desire to develop our love of flavour even further. Designed with the Kootenay’s and our lifestyle in mind we wanted to craft local beers that we would be proud to shout about from the mountain tops!

the kitchen

Wanting to keep and expand on a reputation for high quality, fresh made food, Heidi teamed with Chef John Targar and Chef Marc Rathpoller, guides a culinary team of talented chefs. Using locally sourced ingredients, John, Marc, and their team create original dishes that showcase the flavours of the region as well as new takes on traditional flares. Partnering with locals such as 3 crows farm, an urban farm just 3km down the road, who provides us with many of our fresh produce and greens throughout the year, and Gwinners Butchers, who make our Soggy Otter salami using our Brown Ale, the kitchen is constantly inspired by Kootenay people and all we have available to us.

Heidi Romich

OWNER

Originally from Cranbrook Heidi studied international tourism in Austria and worked at various restaurants in Semmering and Vienna. Heidi returned to Cranbrook with a passion for food and in 1999 Heidi’s Restaurant was opened in Cranbrook, BC. It quickly became renowned for it’s fine cuisine and customer service with community input and feedback being the focus since the beginning. In 2013 Heidi’s closed it’s doors and went through a complete renovation and Fisher Peak Brewing Company was born, alongside sister company The Heid Out Restaurant where our taproom is located. Never one to rest on her laurels Heidi has taught in Malaysia and at the local college, continually inspiring those that work around and for her with her passion for community and taste.

Jordon Aasland

OWNER/BREWER

Fisher Peak Brewing Company is proud to present ales and lagers lovingly handcrafted, on site, by partner and head brewer, Jordon Aasland. All of our beer is created but recipes inspired by Jordon’s love, we’re talking LOVE of craft beer. Using only the best ingredients and sparking water fresh from the Kootenays. Jordon does not settle to just make ‘good’ beer though, when in 2018 he won 1st place in both British Columbia and Canada with his Hell Roaring Scottish Ale, it turned out this was to be the first of many, with several of our beers winning awards at both a provincial and national level since. Jordon has grown his team to teach the craft AND SOMETHING ESLE HERE. Watch this space for what’s to come next for Fisher Peak Brewing Co.
